How Much will I earn ? 

While working for these travelling amusement parks in America you’ll be paid in cash weekly. The minimum starting wage you will earn per week is $ 300,- of which minimal standard deductions, such as taxes, are deducted, as with all wages in the USA. This salary is equal to approximately R 10.000, - per month, depending on the rate of exchange between the American Dollar and the South African Rand. Your cost of living in America is approximately $ 80,- per week. This will buy you food, pay for laundry and even buy you a six pack of beers per week (if you are over 21 years old).

Accommodation

Your accommodation will be a small but sufficient room with not much more than 2m x 2m of space, in the form of a bunkhouse. This is usually a long trailer with partitions in between and two bunk beds on top of each other. This will be your home for your stay in America. You will be placed with a fellow South African or your partner (there are usually 2 people per bunkhouse) in one of these “shoe boxes”. The bathroom facility is a shower, usually shared between 6-8 people, but don't worry, not all at the same time though! You are responsible for cleaning your own facilities."Porta potties" are used for your other needs. Unfortunately you will have to leave your domestic servant behind in SA on this trip! Even though your room has limited space, your bunkhouse is free or costs you little, so you can save (or spend) the money you would normally spend on renting a flat or room with any other job.
